A Heat Advisory has been issued today for the area.
The advisory is in effect from 2pm today to 8pm Wednesday.
Peak heat index values ranging from the upper 90s to lower 100s this afternoon and tomorrow are expected.
Overnight lows in the low to mid 70s will provide for limited nighttime relief from the heat.
The National Weather Service says that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Hot and humid conditions will continue on Thursday, and portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be extended.
Take extra precautions when outside.
Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing.
Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
A man wanted in a Sandusky fatal shooting has been named the U.S. Marshals its fugitive of the week.
The Sandusky Register reports that 20-year-old Armani Woolfork has been charged in the murder of 24-year-old Mark Castille on East Parish Street on August 16th.
Two people were shot in the incident, one being Castille, and another whose condition is not known at this time.
Woolfork is known to frequent the Sandusky and Cleveland areas.

A road closure today in Sandusky…
Columbus Avenue will be closed between Scott Street and Townsend Street while the Division of Water Distribution replaces a water service line.
The closure will remain in place for the duration of the work, which is expected to last the day.
A Huron County road is closing today.
Greenwich Milan Town Line Road, between Scranton Road and Court Road, will be closed for three days.
The closure is for a culvert replacement.
The Charles Berry Bascule Bridge in Lorain is set to be inspected today and tomorrow.
Today’s inspection will focus on the bridge’s underside, and Wednesday’s will be on the bridge deck and top side.
A lane closure is expected on Wednesday.
