Shores and Islands Ohio has announced the launch of its ninth webcam, featuring amazing underwater views. 

The all-new underwater fish cam is live now, located at the Castalia State Fish Hatchery.

Online viewers at can now watch hundreds of Rainbow and Steelhead Trout as they are raised in the hatchery to be stocked throughout the state, including Lake Erie and its tributaries.

A 24-month last-chance agreement has been signed by an Erie County dispatcher after being arrested last month for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. 

According to the Sandusky Register, 27-year-old Miranda Cox of Perkins Township allegedly was found asleep at the wheel at the intersection of Route 6 and East Perkins Avenue.  

The agreement states that Cox can be fired without an appeal for any acts of misconduct involving alcohol and other substances going forward.  

Summit Motorsports Park owners have filed legal paperwork to attempt to put a stop to the roundabout project at Routes 18 and 601 in Huron County.

According to Norwalk Ohio News dot-com, owners of the raceway cite safety concerns for the objection. 

Work on the roundabout is scheduled to start by ODOT late this summer, with a 60-day closure to start in September and wrap up by November.  

ODOT cites safety concerns as their reason for the roundabout at the intersection, which has a history of crashes.

More West Nile Virus detections in the area…

After the virus was found recently in birds in Sandusky County, the Ottawa County Health Department has detected two positive mosquito samples through surveillance.

They say to take precautions, but the positive samples are common.  

A $38.5 million bond for building additions and an athletic complex is coming to Columbia Schools.

The $38.5 million bond issue would go towards additions and renovations for the high school and kindergarten through eighth-grade building, including a two-story athletic complex. 

The issue will go on the November ballot along with the renewal of a 2-mill, five-year permanent improvement levy.
