It’s not going to be as hot as yesterday, but it’s still going to be a scorcher. 

Look for temps today around 90. 

Cooling shelters will be open today in Sandusky at the Erie County Senior Center on East Water Street from 8 to 4 and from 11 to 7 at Eagle Nest Church on Pipe Street.  

A Wisconsin man who stabbed two men, one of them fatally, at an Ohio Turnpike Service Plaza in Vickery last year…has been found not guilty by reason of insanity.

According to the Sandusky Register, 51-year-old Thomas Connor had his plea granted by a judge last week.

Last October, Connor killed 66-year-old David Diedrich of Indiana and injured 53-year-old Alan Austin of Wisconsin in the parking lot of the plaza.

A principal swap at Norwalk City Schools…

The Norwalk Reflector reports these changes…

-Norwalk High School Assistant Principal Nick Kish is headed to League Elementary.

-League Elementary Principal Adam Kreischer will become the new Norwalk High School Assistant Principal.  Kreischer was also recently named the new high school boys basketball coach at Norwalk. 

-Main Street School principal Dan Bauman is becoming the new Director of Operations at the board office.  He’s taking over for Corey Ream, who’s the new superintendent at Edison Schools.

-After all that, Norwalk is looking for a principal at Main Street School.

A second police officer has come forward, to accuse former Sheffield Lake Police Chief Mark Campo of racism and discrimination.

A-J-Torres and his attorney made the accusation yesterday during a video news conference.

Torres and the other police officer have filed complaints with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission.

Campo retired a year ago after the first video allegation went viral on social media.

Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti is sending out a ‘thank you’, to the Columbia Eagles and the Ohio State Eagles Charity fund.

They’ve donated 2-thousand-dolalrs to the sheriff’s office, for supplies used in the DARE program.

The State of Ohio is stepping up, to help the city of Elyria with downtown revitalization.

Today, representatives from the Ohio Department of Development will join Mayor Frank Whitfield, to announce an Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit for property owned by developer Kevin Flanigan.

On the road…

The city of Lorain says, there could be delays for several weeks on a portion of Elyria Avenue.

Crews will be working on the road…from West 21st to Broadway.

The grandstand entertainment for this summer’s Lorain County Fair in Wellington has been announced.

The rest of the week includes the O-S-T-A Truck Pull, the Combine and Pick Up Truck Derby, and the Demolition Derby.

Tickets go on sale Monday. 


-The Cleveland Guardians won last night, 6-5 in 11 innings, at Minnesota.  They are now tied for 1st place in the Central Division with the Twins.
